This is the riveting story of the two men Njál and Gunnar.
Because of a family feud Gunnar is sentenced to outlawry and
must leave Iceland. As he rides from his farm he looks behind himself and makes
the decision to stay as he cannot bring himself to leave this captivating land
which is so close to his heart. Within a short time Gunnar is killed. A few
years later Njál is burnt to death in his own home. They are both locked in a
circle of honour, murder and vengeance.
The story deals with blood vengeance, the demand for a
restoration of honour and how this demand leads to the careless squandering of
mighty men.
