Pilot whaling has been a contentious tradition and source of international stigma for the Faroese since the first international campigns to stop it were launched in 1985.
This book looks at how and if the changing conceptualizations about whales affect pilot whaling in the Faroe Islands.
The books is divided into four parts, concluding with the third part evaluating how the disagreement about pilot whaling can stem from diverging view on how people should interact with their surrounding environment and resources.
