Dear God, Where Were You?

I know my mother's words should have broken me, the rape should have destroyed me, the drugs should have trapped me, the deaths should have seized me, and the abuse should have killed me. The shame of it all was meant to alienate me. But by the grace of God, every storm I overcame, weathered, and went through carried me in the direction of God's plan for my life. When visibility is low and the rain drops heavily, remember "El Roi," the God who sees you, is in the details of your life.
