Kristin
and Erlendur and all of their seven sons end up at Jørundur’s Farm. So you
would expect peace to be kept. But emotionally no calm exists between them.
That is simply how they are.
The
narrative style and tension are kept through this third volume.
And this
is where Kristin’s and Erlendur’s story ends. Despite how bitterness and pride
have shattered their relationship and driven them apart, love still keeps them
in its grip.
Finally,
carnal and divine love cross paths in Kristin. She understands how life in its
grandeur is woven together; she sees the threads of the fabric of life’s path,
the threads that give life a highborn purpose.
